About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions (FES), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.  [FES]


The Accounts Payable Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Supervisor, Accounts Payable in full cycle A/P operations.  This position will play a key role in day-to-day accounts payable functions including processing vendor invoices to ensure timely payment, responding to vendor and employee inquiries, creating /AP Aging reports, as well as supporting internal and external reporting needs.


The positions report to the Supervisor, Accounts Payable and is located at the West Akron Campus (WAC) in Akron, Ohio.  There are two openings.


Responsibilities include:

  • Processing vendor invoices to ensure timely payment
  • Reviewing invoices and expenses and their related supporting documentation to ensure accuracy
  • Preparing A/P Aging reports as needed
  • Responding to vendor and employee inquiries
  • Assisting with miscellaneous reporting requirements including 1099 processing
  • Executing special projects as needed
  • Providing support or documentation needed for internal and external reporting



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience required.  Relevant work experience will include general Accounts Payable experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
