About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.  [SC00]

 

 

This position provides administrative support for the following groups – HR Business Partners, Diversity & Inclusion and Total Rewards.  It reports to the HR Business Partner, Shared Services and is located at the Corporate  Office in Akron, Ohio.

 

 Responsibilities include: 

  • Performs a variety of complex technical administrative assignments requiring initiative, judgment, and well-developed knowledge and skills
  • Maintains databases and mailing lists associated with compensation and benefit programs
  • Runs various reports to support FirstEnergy’s compensation programs
  • Monitors the Executive Compensation Mailbox
  • Supports team members with routine day-to-day and administrative activities including timekeeping, creating and maintaining traditional and electronic files and records, distributing mail, answering telephone calls, processing requisitions, expense statements and invoices, and maintaining office supply inventory and processing facilities requests for the department
  • Provides administrative support to leadership including maintaining appointment calendars, scheduling conference calls and meetings, making travel arrangements and managing itineraries and associated details; coordinates large, multi-day meetings and events
  • Handles general SAP administrative work
  • Compiles and researches data for projects and reports
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality on projects and employee-related information
  • Takes initiative to solve problems and bring issues to closure
  • Demonstrates a willingness to question established procedures and processes
  • Demonstrates a solid commitment to all aspects of safety
  • Provides sound internal and external customer service and responds in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner
     

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 7 years work experience required
  • Prior work experience in an administrative support role
  • Must pass the Company’s EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and instructions, and produce high quality work products in a thorough, timely and accurate manner
  • Demonstrates a questioning attitude and experience making recommendations for process improvements when appropriate
  • Demonstrates ability to model active learning through continuing to develop knowledge, skills and perspective
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to independently prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines

We administer selection tests for a variety of positions.
