About the Opportunity

This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

 

FirstEnergy is in the middle of a transformation of its Supply Chain organization.  The size of this organization is doubling and new processes to enable category management are being implemented.  To support these new processes, the organization has decided to move away from the 20-year-old on-prem SAP modules to a new, industry leading, cloud-based Source to Pay system.  The Supply Chain Analyst is a member of the newly created Solutions and Standards team within the Supply Chain organization. The individual's input adds value to the strategic sourcing and negotiation processes as part of the team approach to category management. The analytical tools that will be used will provide actionable insight into supplier performance.

 

This position can be sited at any location within the FirstEnergy service territory (OH, PA, WV, MD and NJ).  
 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Assisting with initiatives to aid in contract negotiations
  • Aiding in the development and maintenance of data models, dashboards, and performance metrics tools to support key business decisions
  • Resolving and troubleshooting issues with analytical tools
  • Conducting research, gathering, and analyzing data (e.g., cost models, productivity, demand) as input to successful Category Management
  • Creating performance reports to distribute to appropriate stakeholders
  • Coordinating and facilitating use of Cleansheets program

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, engineering, data analytics, data management, data modeling, dashboard development, statistics, quantitative/qualitative methods, or a related discipline and 4-7 years related work experience is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, 7-10 years of related experience required.  Related work experience includes supply chain analytics, data management, data science, or data analytics experience.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experience in data mining, analysis and/or reporting
  • High level of understanding of supply chain concepts and processes
  • Electrical/mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to understand how to break down objects into component parts
  • Experience with cloud-based Source to Pay or Procure to Pay platforms
  • Experience with ERP applications such as Oracle and/or SAP
  • Detail oriented
  • Good communications skills
  • Able to work with individuals at all organizational levels
