FirstEnergy Solutions Short Term Transactions is responsible for the hedging and balancing of generating assets, retail sales, physical and financial wholesale sales and purchases daily, weekly, monthly, and calendar year.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

• Coordinating and executing FirstEnergy Solutions financial and physical bi-lateral transactions within the respective Regional Transmission Organization footprint.  Assist in all position balancing functions as required.

• Managing physical and financial transactions

• Developing and maintaining standard procedure and process documentation  

• Demonstrating a sound knowledge of various researching techniques

• Possessing an in-depth understanding of applicable products

• Displaying a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships

• Presenting excellent analytical abilities

• Ability to develop effective working relationships with external counterparties

• Delivering quality, accurate work within established deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team member in any environment

• Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness and ability to learn new skills

• Well organized with ability to prioritize workload to complete duties accurately and on time

• Ability and desire to continually find a better way to solve the problem and incorporate that into improved work practices

• Ability to develop effective working relationships with external counterparts

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline is required

• The Analyst III position requires 4 – 6 years of relevant work experience in real time operations in energy trading organizations or has trading/ hedging experience in a financial institution such as banking or financial hedging group.  The Analyst IV position requires 6 – 8 years of relevant work experience.

• Familiarity with PJM eSuites, MISO Portal, OATI Tagging and OASIS is preferred

• Familiarity with MISO and/or PJM energy markets is preferred

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
