About the Opportunity

The Supply Chain Instructor is a member of the newly created Solutions and Standards team within the Supply Chain organization.  The Instructor adds value to the strategic sourcing and negotiation processes as part of the team approach to Category Management by identifying training opportunities for Supply Chain.  The Instructor develops a standardized curriculum, provides training, and tracks capability building within the Supply Chain organization.   Enhancing suppliers’ knowledge of Supply Chain processes and governance is a key deliverable of this position. 

 

The Solutions and Standards team is a Center of Excellence organization which drives continuous improvement across Supply Chain. 

 

This position can be sited at any location within the FirstEnergy service territory.  (OH, PA, WV, MD, or NJ)

 

 Responsibilities include:

 

  • Identifying and developing strategies for capability building for the Supply Chain organization
  • Leading and driving the implementation of competency-based learning approach
  • Defining, managing, and tracking capability building expectations
  • Building curriculum as needed to ensure effective capability building
  • Creating targeted training schedules and content
  • Developing and maintaining learning modules and tools to build and maintain best practice capabilities
  • Managing the budget related to training

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education or a related discipline and minimum 10 years’ related work experience is required. 
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years' related experience is required.  Related work experience includes program development/training, cirriculum design and execution, education, or organizational instruction 
  • Adult or organizational education with curriculum development experience is required
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain is a plus
  • Project management experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Attentive to detail
  • Able to work with individuals at all organizational levels 
  • Ability to innovate and create
