About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions (FES), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.  [FES]

 

Position Summary:

The Communications Analyst will work with the newly formed Communications team to execute the Company's internal and external communications strategies.  Reporting to the Director of Communications, this position will assist in the execution of day to day department activities including management of internal communications schedules, maintenance of key contact databases, writing and research on a broad range of topics, problem solving, assistance with event planning, and coordination and outreach in support of Company priorities

 

The position is located at the West Akron Campus (WAC) in Akron, Ohio.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and execute internal communications in accordance with schedule
  • Assist in the development and management of content for the company website and social media accounts
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Communcations, support Company re-branding efforts
  • Manage and coordinate with external providers of services including public relations firms, writers, graphic designers, photographers and videographers; manage production process and edits/reviews to completion. 
  • Develop and assist with leadership communications, including publications and presentations; activities to include research, writing, formatting, proofreading and publication/distribution
  • As required, coordinate the planning and execution of company events
  • Support the efforts of the Communications Department in Emergency Response drills and events
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing or related field requried
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in a communications role required
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Hands on experience in content development and management
  • Ability to communicate across a variety of platforms to a diverse network of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop content in accordance with overall communications strategy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms
  • Experience in power generation or related industrial field is preferred, but not required
