Accountability Objective

This position is accountable for providing strategic direction toward initiatives involving IT Systems and Cloud.



  • EST or CST time zone.  Remote work location cannot be in the states of California, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New York, Oregon, Washington at this time
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Microsoft Azure Cloud environment
    • Traditional Virtualization Technologies such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V
    • Physical and Virtual server hardware environment
    • System administration concepts related to Microsoft Server, AIX and Red Hat Linux
    • Mainstream Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database technologies
    • Storage related concepts, protocols (ISCSI, NFS, CIFS), RAID levels and disk technologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels and with varying backgrounds.
  • Experience in providing responsive and effective customer service.
  • Highly motivated to work independently and productively within a virtual environment (i.e. working with remote co-workers using virtual technologies).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and plan work, work on multiple concurrent tasks, and meet deadlines.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Execute the strategic roadmap for private/public cloud architecture, and champion the culture change for cloud adoption pushing FE forward beyond business as usual.  Principle catalyst for technology change by regularly evaluating infrastructure, applications, tools, and other technologies, and is responsible to drive innovation and leadership of technical strategy/operational effectiveness
  • Champion FE Governance policies.  Develop and maintain governance processes, procedures, and policies for FE’s cloud and Infrastructure environments
  • Work closely with IT security, Infrastructure, App Development, Digital Factory, Compliance, and other SMEs that form our FE Governance / management team to ensure there is awareness, understanding, and acceptance across all groups when implementing new technologies.
  • Provide direct project management, guidance and input to our large initiatives.   Provide a highly visible role for FE’s key initiatives and/or projects capitalizing on your technical areas of knowledge and focus
  • Ensure technology implementation is in line with global and organizational standards, integration and optimized across private and public cloud by leveraging key relationships with FE Architects and SMEs.
  • Understand FE technical security policies, network security, data security and event management
  • Responsible to be aware of and incorporate best practices and what other similar companies are actively deploying
  • Vendor Liaison – Lead discussions and assemble appropriate FE resources to investigate new solutions and address open vendor issues
  • Supply chain Liaison – provide key interface between IT and FE Supply Chain on all purchases and renewals within your architect span of influence.  Partner with SC to lead major RFP activities including defining technical specs, answering vendor questions, evaluating financials, soliciting, and guiding technical admin input and analysis, presenting recommendations to FE management, and vendor negotiations throughout the RFP process
  • Provide OTL budget input and accountability to foster a solid 5-year forecast, while assuring new technology is appropriately funded / justified
