About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.  [SC00]

 

The position supports the Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer (“CLO”). The position is located at the Corporate Office in Akron, Ohio.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Demonstrating a solid commitment to all aspects of safety including maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers
  • Coordinating general office functions and providing multifaceted support to the CLO
  • Maintaining complex calendars on a daily basis
  • Staying on top of all incoming emails and ensuring that the CLO responds and acts in a timely manner
  • Interacting frequently with FirstEnergy executives, other stakeholders, and high-profile external visitors; providing high quality service and support
  • Researching, prioritizing, and following up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the executives, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determining appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
  • Handling of sensitive and confidential materials and information
  • Maintaining a well-organized filing system for key materials and reports (electronic and hard copy)
  • Performing various general office duties involving word processing, record and file maintenance, travel arrangements and expense reporting, scheduling meetings and conference calls, mail distribution, receiving and directing visitors and telephone reception
  • Handling general SAP and ELM administrative work
  • Preparing correspondence and presentations
  • Developing and maintaining databases and spreadsheets
  • Anticipating and providing excellent quality service to meet internal and external customer needs in an independent manner
  • Using excellent communication skills with good judgment
  • Working proactively to ensure knowledge is transferred to others
  • Anticipating needs and delivering results consistently
  • Supporting other executives from time to time, including the Chief Executive Officer
  • Assisting with other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes previous experience providing support to a senior executive.
  • Must pass EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships
  • Model active learning through continuing to develop breadth of knowledge, skills, and perspective
  • Able to lead by example
