About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp [FES].

 

The Financial Analyst (Analyst) will assist in the preparation of the Company's monthly financial statements and provide analysis and explanations versus the business plan.  In this role, the analyst will also support ongoing internal and external reporting requirements.  They will support the Manager of Financial Reporting & Planning as it relates to the Company's business planning process, maintaining and updating the integrated 3-statement model, assistance with existing asset scenario planning, as well as other miscellaneous ad hoc analyses and tasks to support the Company's operational performance.  The analyst will also assist in creating and providing recommendations to executive level management.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of key financial statement reports including monthly Financial Statements, monthly Board reporting, and on-going management reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)   
  • Supporting the Manager of Financial Reporting & Planning in various areas including: business plan forecast, integrated 3-statement model, reporting variances to forecast, and reporting results to internal and external constituents
  • Supporting the execution of special projects as required by Management

 

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related discipline required
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience required. Relevant work experience will include knowledge of business plan forecasting, management and board reporting, and preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in financial business planning and analysis
  • Working knowledge of data analytical techniques using statistical, comparative, and evaluative models preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, specifically MS Excel (advanced formulas and macro experience is a plus)
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Willingness to learn
