The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.  This option is not available in the states of California, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New York, Oregon or Washington at this time.

 

We have recently embarked on a Digital transformation journey, by launching our Digital Factory where we are reimaging the way we work and serve our users. Our projects benefit the community by aiding in providing safe, reliable electricity to everyone:

  • Customer: create analytics to improve customer satisfaction along the customer journey for a lifetime as they move-in to a residence, pay their bill and move to new residences.
  • Transmission & Distribution: develop algorithms to detect asset failures, reduce outages and provide reliable electricity to customers.
  • Smart Meter: provide customers with the electric usage they need to make smart decisions about their home as well as reduce threats and theft in the electric system.

 

What you’ll do:

The primary responsibility will be to work with Innovation and Digital Factory (IDF) Feature Developers (Java, QA, Microsoft) to facilitate technical upgrade activities, assist with the work planning and preplanning activities during the project intake and initiation phases, and provide support for operational activities.

  • Assisting with work planning and forecasting activities for Digital Factory Feature by gathering information, compiling, and analyzing results
  • Technical Project management - Working closely with the Development and business teams to facilitate technical projects from inception through implementation for period upgrade activities.
  • Production operational activities support including but not limited to:
    • Maintaining the release schedules across all the Feature Java Squads
    • Assisting with release deployments
    • Limited testing assistance
    • Manage backlog and schedules for technical improvements and strategic roadmap items
    • Assess and track performance to our technical roadmap
    • Triage and escalation of issues
    • Analyzing processes and procedures and facilitating the planning to close gaps
    • Assist with incident and general requests for assistance related to FirstEnergy internal or external web applications.
  • You may provide guidance to the business Product Analyst or Product owner to help assess value metrics for their initiatives
  • You may Collaborate with the Squads for the delivery of the performance metrics

 

Who you are:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or another related field; with a minimum of 2 years related experience required.  In lieu of a degree, 4 years of related experience required. 
    • Related experience includes, but is not limited to supporting application development, planning/ forecasting, technical requirements gathering, Compiling and analyzing Metrics
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels of FirstEnergy
  • Deliver quality Accurate work within established guidelines
  • Desire and aptitude to learn and grow quickly and work across FirstEnergy and deliver results
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to think creatively
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve non-routine problems with little or no guidance
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and plan activities, work on multiple concurrent tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently with a high level of productivity
  • Proven team player; encourages and supports team members in a virtual work setting.
  • Willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Sound decision making methods

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous project management experience
  • Knowledge of working in the project boards in Azure Devops
