The Marketing Analyst, Marketing Planning is responsible for engaging in the strategy and vision for our multi-channel product marketing.  The primary role is responsible for implementation and execution of strategic multi-channel integrated marketing.  The position will collaborate closely with other team members and marketing agency in the development of the product marketing planning.  We are seeking a results-oriented marketing services professional who is experienced in the execution of consumer products marketing initiatives.  The candidate will own the marketing funnel for our consumer products efforts and own individual consumer product portfolios under the supervision of a Marketing Manager.  It will interface heavily with the product innovation, consumer products and database/CRM subject matter experts to help develop and drive marketing projects to completion.  The candidate will need to possess the innate ability and desire to develop relationships with both internal teammates and outside vendors and agency contacts.  This role is part of the team who develops the marketing strategies, coordinates and manages details necessary to ensure projects are delivered on time within budget. 


The positon reports to the Manager, Marketing Planning and is located in Akron, Ohio.


Responsibilities include:

  • Handling of day-to-day strategic media plans and account deliverables
  • Working across functions and departments to bring products to life. Product marketing is at the center of our entire department, constantly interacting with teammates and prospects
  • Developing and managing media work flow production schedules, approvals (to include legal) with internal and external partners
  • Organizing collaborative project management and coordination, implementing and monitoring marketing projects, meet deadlines, communicate risks and respond to changing priorities
  • Marketing services point of contact for collaborating with cross-functional teams from creative/agency, operations, consumer products portfolio team, and legal to produce effective marketing and promotional materials and website updates
  • Assisting in the development and refinement of marketing strategy to meet stated business goals and KPI’s
  • Providing ongoing support to product portfolio analysts and product innovation analysts whose work will be enhanced by marketing strategy and insights – further driving revenue and growing margin through product sales
  • Campaign Management, accountability to consistently develop, manage, and efficiently track all channel marketing promotions, detailed annual cadence by product offering
  • Coordinating marketing operations within relevant department budgets and vendor partner co-op relationships
  • Working with support areas to create effective product marketing content (e.g. sales documentation, landing pages, product videos, website copy, blog posts, and other forums) to articulate the benefits and value proposition of our products
  • Leveraging marketing strategy for products beginning in the development phase through to commercialization, launch and throughout product life cycle
  • Production work flow management to administer creative market-planning criteria developed by the working teams
  • Collaborating with data analysts to enable product portfolio managers and product innovators to enhance development and enable sales
  • Fostering relationships, developing strategic direction with cross-departmental stakeholders
  • Partnering with Database Marketing, CRM Analyst and Operations teams on development and production of timely marketing channel strategy implementations
  • Working effectively with agency partners, 3rd party partners and internal team
  • Establishing closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine the process to convert customers
  • Project management work with related teams and counterparts to build and manage a rich content/marketing calendar that attracts a qualified audience (including blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, how-to videos, etc.)



  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, advertising administration or related discipline required
  • Minimum 4 years professional work experience required with experience in consumer product marketing, market-planning, print production, mail, digital and website marketing and product portfolio management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in HTML/CSS, Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Aptitude or acumen for digital marketing, demonstrated web development experience, familiar with current design and technology trends and methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience of the multi-channel creative and design process
  • Possess a solid understanding of principles, standards, best practices and protocols associated with implementing and growing efficient cross-channel planning and campaign management
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing best practices across CRM, website, digital advertising, marketing automation and social media
  • Solid understanding of content strategy and creation
  • Experience working with outside agency marketing partners, 3rd party vendors partners
  • Experience strategizing and executing marketing campaigns preferred
  • Experience in brand management and project management preferred
  • Experienced in marketing work flow process development and continuous improvement
  • Experience in development of multi-channel marketing cadence planning and marketing calendar development, consistent tracking and execution
  • Proficiency in content optimization systems, ability to work with cross-functional teams to build product pages, optimize the conversion paths on those pages, and use smart calls-to-action to create, drive adoption, and test buyer stage-specific CTAs
  • Understanding of print and media procurement, production, implementation, distribution
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Initiative and adaptability, be reliable and able to take responsibility and direction well
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, ability to use data to make all decisions
