About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions (FES), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.  [FES]

 

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Manager will report to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for the oversight of full cycle A/P operations, including the supervision of multiple A/P analysts and supporting plant-based personnel. This role requires problem solving, project management, detailed analysis and dedication towards driving a daily process to improve efficiencies. This role is highly visible within the organization and the individual will be required to interact with vendors and employees throughout the organization.

 

The positon is located at the West Akron Campus (WAC) in Akron, Ohio.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage daily tasks and allocation of resources across the A/P team
  • Review A/P Aging report
  • Ensure that daily and monthly invoices are processed and paid timely
  • Ensure timely responses to all A/P inquiries
  • Ensure all expenses are recorded in correct period and accrued for
  • Manage expense policy and employee reimbursement process
  • Coordinate with managers/supervisors across the organization to ensure that all P-Card activity is properly recorded and monitored for compliance with established policies
  • Miscellaneous reporting requirements including 1099 processing
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement efficiencies in the A/P processes
  • Provide necessary support or documentation needed for internal and external reporting     

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in an A/P role including some portion with supervisory experience required
  • Experience with SAP preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)
  • Attention to detail and goal oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates project management skills and awareness of key performance metrics
