Summary:

The Manager, Total Rewards is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and administering the organization’s compensation and benefit programs.  Performs the day-to-day management associated with these programs while staying abreast of market trends and changing compliance requirements.  Ensures that our compensation and benefits programs align with company goals, comply with legal requirements and positively impact the organization by attracting, rewarding and retaining talented employees.

 

The position is located at the West Akron Campus (WAC) in Akron, OH.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages all compensation activities including salary and bonus programs.
  • Oversees preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies.
  • Ensures internal equity, external competitiveness and compliance pertaining to compensation with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and recommends necessary or suggested changes to management.
  • Provides statistical and census data to third party providers for analysis to ensure our compensation and benefit plans are competitive and cost effective.
  • Anticipates future trends and implications for the compensation programs and provides ongoing evaluation of incentive programs to ensure alignment with strategy.
  • Consults with and provides direction, guidance and resolution to HR teams and business leaders on compensation matters.
  • Monitors the market, partners with our insurance brokers and other vendors to drive the design and management of the benefits programs.
  • Ensures that benefits are competitive within the industry, cost-effective and equitable. Must become fully versed in all Company benefit programs offered.
  • Manages third party providers, brokers, and advisors, and overall benefit programs.
  • Leads the Open Enrollment process and coordination with the HR team.
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field requried.  MBA or Master’s in Human Resources preferred.  Professional CCP/GRP Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience required specifically related to compensation and benefits.
  • Knowledge of ERISA and IRS regulations as it pertains to benefits is required.
  • Compensation expertise in pay programs, incentive and bonus plans, job evaluation, and salary survey use and methodology.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to learn and utilize different systems and programs.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in effectively leading a wide-spectrum of compensation and benefits programs and practices which supports a results-oriented business.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally and present with all levels within the organization, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High personal standards of excellence, commitment, and integrity when dealing with confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
