About the Opportunity

 

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

This position is a key member of the Organizational Effectiveness Operations team and is accountable for developing, facilitating and supporting key talent processes and leveraging Organizational Development/ Organizational Effectiveness (OD/OE) tools to build individual, leadership and team capability that will result in a highly effective organization. This includes serving as an advisor, thought-leader and partner to HR Business Partners, HR Managers and senior leadership on OD/OE and talent initiatives, including talent reviews, succession planning, leadership assessment, high-potential development, employee and team engagement and alignment.  The position reports to the Manager, Organizational Effectiveness and is considered a mobile employee, located in Ohio.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Understanding the business strategy and operating environment and executing a functional organizational effectiveness strategy that will support the key objectives of FirstEnergy and Operations
  • Collaborating with HR Business Partners, HR Managers, HR Business Partners on talent management processes and execution of the talent review, succession planning and high potential development processes within the business
  • Analyzing leadership development needs, translating development needs into practical learning solutions and establishing learning objectives that support business priorities and align with the over-arching corporate strategy
  • Assessing organizational, individual and team alignment and providing coaching, interventions and training as needed to maintain strong, effective leadership teams
  • Supporting the culture transformation process as a culture champion
  • Providing coaching and development support for executive high potential talent
  • Providing hospitality services during storm processes as needed. 

 

FEU specific (supportive of strategic plan)

 

  • Consulting with Ohio State President to facilitate creation of cross-functional engagement and collaboration needed for success
  • Helping the leadership develop more fluidity and agility as they have taken on responsibility for moving across the craft lines
  • Supporting the creation of development plans to help get people ready to take on broader leadership roles
  • Creating transparency around opportunities for career advancement, lateral as well as upward development path, through candid career conversations
  • Continuing to enhance leadership safety coaching skills in collaboration with the Safety & Human Performance organization
  • Creating a work environment where all employees are engaged and driving DEI, including participation in the Ambassador program.


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Organization Development, HR, or similar discipline required
  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience required
  • Leadership and managerial experience preferred
  • Organizational development or adult learning background required
  • Strong group facilitation skills required
  • Executive coaching experience and use of leadership assessment tools (i.eg: Predictive Index and OPTM360)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Ability to work and interact with all levels of employees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
