The Process Excellence & Policy Analyst is a member of the newly created Solutions and Standards team within the Supply Chain organization.  The Standards team impacts processes, procedures and standards within Supply Chain.  The analyst’s input adds value to the strategic sourcing and negotiation processes as part of the team approach to Category Management.  The individual identifies and implements Supply Chain process improvements across Supply Chain and tracks relevant compliance performance metrics.  The analyst establishes a set of governance frameworks, standards, and processes for end-to-end procurement process.


This position can be sited at any location within the FirstEnergy service territory.


Responsibilities include:


  • Identifying opportunities to streamline and standardize Source to Pay process
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline and standardize Material Operations process
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of procedures to track and improve the sourcing process and compliance
  • Creating and maintaining a process for sharing best practices
  • Managing deviations from standard processes and helping ensure compliance to procurement policies and procedures
  • Defining and monitoring key compliance indicators
  • Monitoring and reporting statutory and regulatory compliance
  • Monitoring and reporting contract compliance for key categories
  • Providing training for Supply Chain personnel on policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations
  • Leading initiatives and process improvement workshops
  • Leading initiatives to streamline and standardize processes
  • Tracking and monitoring initiatives
  • Liaising to other organization groups, specifically Internal Audit and Ethics & Compliance
  • Leading response for audits related to Supply Chain




  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related discipline and 4 - 7 years’ related work experience is required. 
  • In lieu of a degree, 7 years of related work experience is required.  Related work experience includes supply chain analytics, data management, process improvement experience, and procurement.  Compliance and regulatory experience a plus. 
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experience in data mining, analysis and/or reporting
  • Strong understanding of supply chain concepts, policies, and end-to-end procurement processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Process improvement techniques: lean, six-sigma
  • Able to work with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Coaching and teaching skills
