The Sales Analyst will partner with sales executives and leadership, providing meaningful sales support, resulting in revenue generation. The analyst will assist the group in meeting goals and thus contribute to their success. The sales group is a growing, dynamic, profit-generating segment of FirstEnergy Solutions. It is critical to the success of the organization that this group meets and exceeds annual sales and revenue targets.


The position will be located at our West Akron Campus (WAC), in Akron, Ohio.


Principal Accountabilities:


  • Provide assistance to sales executives and sales leadership in advancing both new and renewal sales opportunities throughout the sales process to closure
  • Conduct business-specific research, which includes compiling data, creating offers and preparing reports and summaries
  • Assist in the proposal development process including data input, data analysis, pricing, contract preparation, and preparing responses to RFP's
  • Analyze rules and regulations for electric distribution companies (EDCs) that are actively being pursued
  • Work in systems to understand contract development and tracking
  • Manage multiple tasks and complete priorities through effective planning and established agreed upon timetables for accurate and timely completion of assigned work
  • Provide sound internal and external customer service by developing positive relationships, while identifying needs and expectations and responding effectively and proactively
  • Maintain a book of business, free of risk exceptions by adhering to policy and processes
  • Offer ideas and suggestions to improve sales related work processes and/or projects
  • Promote a customer-focused vision, maintaining a positive attitude and tremendous focus in a demanding environment




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or other related disciplines required
  • Minimum 0 - 4 years work experience in a business sales environment required, experience as an analyst or business-to-business sales representative preferred
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word and other business unit specific applications
  • Ability to react and respond to change in a fast-paced/demanding work environment
  • Capable of delivering quality, accurate work within established deadlines
  • Robust communication skills; ability and desire to work in a team environment
  • Proven success in meeting deadlines, good time management, and project completion
  • Ability to recognize best practices and techniques for addressing customer concerns with the skill to understand and implement basic approaches to trouble shooting
  • Demonstrated success around independent judgment on basic projects and assignments
