About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions (FES), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FES]

 

The Sales Executive role is within the Large Commercial and Industrial (LCI) Sales Group and reports to the Manager, LCI Sales. Depending upon location of applicant, the position may be located in a home office or located at the West Akron Campus

 

This group is a growing, dynamic segment of FirstEnergy Solutions. It is critical to the success of the enterprise that the sales group meets and exceeds annual sales and revenue targets.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting new customers by using cold calling, electronic communications and in person sales methods
  • Demonstrating consultative selling techniques by matching customers’ needs with various tailored product solutions
  • Developing detailed sales proposals for business-to-business (B2B) customers
  • Understanding the implication of risk and policy as it relates to contracting with customers, focused on maintaining a risk-free status in advancing deals
  • Meeting and exceeding designated sales goals
  • Producing daily results by using innovative methods to help the sales process
  • Demonstrating sound internal and external coordination to effectively overcome hurdles in advancing the sale
  • Operating a variety of systems that include Microsoft Office, SAP CRM and proprietary tools to track, cost and price opportunities.
  • Understanding energy market movements, their effect on pricing and the various electric distribution company deregulation rules (by market)
  • Developing customized and tailored price proposals and necessary analytics for customer presentation and/or internal approvals (as needed)
  • Negotiating and gaining customer commitments over the phone and in person
  • Retaining a book of satisfied customers by providing timely communications, market updates and understanding the key drivers in their business to help create measurable value for the customer
  • Producing results that have a direct, positive impact on both the company and your customers
  • Demonstrating a solid commitment to all aspects of safety
  • Understanding continuous improvement and applying it to advancing the sale
  • Sharing effective sales approaches, tools and methods with other team members to maximize the benefit to FES business objectives

 
An employee hired will be expected to perform all of the above responsibilities with proficiency, and  in an independent manner, as well as other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience required with experience in a business to business (B2B) sales role preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability problem solving, multi-tasking and utilizing teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated effective prioritization skills for efficient sales results
  • Success in Business to Business (B2) sales and closing deals
  • Knowledge of the electricity market and understanding of the “art of the deal” methodology
  • In-depth understanding of, collection, organization and analysis of information from a variety of sources to develop a sales plan and/or proposal
  • A questioning attitude to learn, produce results and develop relationships
