About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions (FES), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.[FES]


The Service Delivery Manager - Application Services will facilitate business process and function alignment with IT application capabilities, working collaboratively with business strategists, process owners and subject matter experts.  This position will direct the development of IT solutions, including integration across application platforms, to align with business needs, and oversee the deployment of solutions, upgrades and maintenance by the outsourced service providers.  


This position will also assist the CIO in developing the long term IT strategy and how to best leverage application and integration tools to move the company forward.    


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) customers in defining or designing business processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on customer requirements.
  • Facilitating agreement on organizational work models to meet business requirements.
  • Working closely with business units and support functions to define IT requirements and align with service provider standard solutions.
  • Identifying and building business cases for unique IT solutions or deviations from the IT outsourcer’s standard solutions
  • Participating in enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development.
  • Participating in enterprise architecture development, including business architecture, information architecture, application portfolio and technical architecture.
  • Seeking ways to apply new technology to, and reuse existing technology for, business processes
  • Facilitating development of cross enterprise solutions that combine knowledge of general business processes and issues, general technological options, and process facilitation techniques.


Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field of engineering; M.B.A. preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, minimum of 5 years of IT application development experience, minimum of 5 years working in an outsourced environment either as client or provider.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing business processes, functions and defining IT system requirements
  • Deep experience in managing IT in an outsourced environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of facilitation and organization change management.
