Position Summary:

The Senior Plant Communications Representative will lead internal and external communications for their site.  Working for the Vice President, External Affairs, the Senior Plant Communications Representative will implement internal communications strategies at the Beaver Valley nuclear plant to increase engagement, generate pride and ensure alignment with goals. 

Furthermore, the Senior Plant Communications Representative will support the External Affairs function through monitoring and coordinating communications with local communities, governments and key stakeholders surrounding the Company's three Fossil Generation facilities.

 This position will be located at the Beaver Valley nuclear plant in Shippingport, PA


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Working with Plant and Corporate Communications leadership, manage internal messaging and employee communications
  • Provide input to and support the internal communications objectives, targets, and plan for the company
  • Develop communications strategies, plans and calendars to support plant projects / initiatives.
  • Develop content – written, digital, video – to support communications efforts
  • Drive change management and employee engagement through communications activities and messaging
  • Plan, organize and develop content for plant meetings and events
  • Serve on Emergency Response Organization Team as Media Relations Representative, Public Affairs Duty Officer, Statement Writer and/or Information Supervisor
  • Oversee the activities of the Refueling/Outage Communication Team at the plant
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including community liaison groups, government officials and other local partners
  • Advocate for the company and plant at local government and community meetings as needed
  • Perform other job duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing or related field required
  • Minimum 8 years direct work experience in a communictions or government affairs role required
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Hands on experience in content development and management
  • Ability to communicate across a variety of platforms to a diverse network of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop content in accordance with overall communications strategy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms
  • Experience in power generation or related industrial field is preferred, but not required
