About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions (FES), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FES]

 

The Structuring and Pricing Analyst will support all Natural Gas activities in deregulated utilities including building accurate cost structures and running pricing studies for the group.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing S&P (Structuring & Pricing) meetings, track key channel developments, perform cross channel economic analysis, and communicate key developments to FES leadership and S&P stakeholders.
  • Driving all ERCOT activities including building accurate cost structures and running pricing studies for the group.
  • Supporting Residential and Commercial sales initiatives throughout the year. Verifying profiles used and make sure reflected properly in deal capture system.
  • Performing Project Manager function for all pass through pricing events. Evaluate event details, gain approvals from S&P, lead team meetings with the cross functional team, instill best practices, and report project status to management. Take responsibility for the results of the process and recommend improvements.
  • Completing weekly marked-to-market calculations for completed contracts. Monitor margin changes based on market movements and customer load swings.
  • Carrying out lead function for ancillary and capacity forecasting for all financial forecasts including budget. Review and test all assumptions to ensure accuracy of the forecast. Communicate issues to management as needed. Accept accountability for accuracy.
  • Executing backup role activities for complex pricing desk procedures including load modeling, morning update routines, PQM system aggregations, all special product requests including priceless, layers, and B&E's.
  • Actively participating on other functional teams including RBO (Retail Back Office),  Sales channels, and Commercial Operations.
     

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of  4 years of experience in costing Retail Natural Gas and pipeline experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration on Business, Finance, or Analytics is preferred
  • Experience in ERCOT Electric Energy Market highly favorable
  • Statistical modeling expertise
  • Strong analytical skills including experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Outstanding project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams with the objective towards achieving a common initiative
