About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Utilities, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU]

 

 

Transmission Operations Specialists are technical resources responsible for ensuring FirstEnergy’s interconnection requirements are met, coordinating interconnection projects, and resolving meter related issues.

 

Responsibilities:         

                                                                              

  • Coordinating new interconnection projects and metering                                                                  
  • Preparing modeling for new projects, ties and/or generators
  • Resolving meter related issues including meter failures, changes and new installs
  • Ensuring the accuracy of tie line and generator data submitted to PJM and determine estimates as required
  • Verifying generation and tie-line values used to determine zonal loads for each operating company are correct
  • Acting as the technical resource for the modeling of inter and intra ties and generators
  • Developing Year-to-Date peak information
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to the Regulated Settlements process
  • Ensuring meter corrections are performed and submitted to PJM on schedule
  • Ensuring direction, magnitude, time range, and accuracy of all end of month corrections to PJM estimates and out of market corrections
  • Training Transmission Operations personnel on settlement processes and applications
  • Providing guidance to Transmission Operations personnel in resolving daily issues related to the checkout process and in operating and updating the PowerTracker application
  • Recommending and implementing solutions to more complex issues and assignments
  • Providing assistance during emergencies and storm related activities

 


Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field.
  • 0-3 years related experience.
  • Works safely according to company policies and procedures.
  • Basic written and oral communications skills.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic analytical abilities involving moderately complex problems; exercise sound judgment.
  • Basic leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to use PowerTracker Energy Settlements application, Energy Management System, eMTR, Plant Information system, Excel and TESLA
  • Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
