The Supply Chain Analyst (ETF Field Support- Material Operations) is responsible for the coordination and communication of all information as it pertains to transmission projects in the designated area.  The Analyst is based at the Altoona Service Center, Clearfield Service Center, and Phillipsburg Service Center.
 

Responsibilities include:
 

  • Knowledge of FirstEnergy design standards for transmission and distribution
  • Confer with responsible employees in connection with simple stock substitutions, requisition changes, shipments, etc.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with contractors and internal personnel
  • Ability to prepare legible and accurate records and reports.
  • Providing Project status reports on material needs and issues.
  • Working with Transmission Project Management to ensure material needs are met.
  • Effectively work as a team player on large projects to achieve the common goal
  • Ability to work with contractors, vendors, buyers and warehouses on material issues, needs, setting up delivery or returns
  • Maintains the physical conditions and orderliness of the outside storage areas, lay-down areas, counter stock, warehouse storage areas, and stock location system.
  • Responsible for processing and maintaining daily issue and receipt documentation and their distribution in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Accounting for material used by operations and receiving returned material; controlling such material through the use of the computerized inventory system; enter transactions into computerized inventory system as required.
  • May be required to verify material and supplies in accordance with purchase order specifications and process reports of receipt and disbursement.  Inspections will involve the use of simple measuring devices and weight and count calculations.
  • Takes or directs the taking of physical inventory, both complete and spot check, as directed or required.
  • Receives, issues, inventories and makes distribution on all materials and supplies, including material that does not meet purchase order specifications.
  • Effectively communicate material needs or material change/additions requests from field personnel to engineering for approval
  • Contact local representatives of private and common carriers to report and arrange for the inspection and verification of concealed damages to items delivered.
  • Manage and disburse material for projects in accordance with the engineering design
  • This position travels to transmission project laydown yards in the western service territory of Ohio.
  • Willing to occasionally have overnight stays based on location of laydown yards
  • Receives, issues, inventories and makes distribution on all materials and supplies, including material that does not meet purchase order specifications.
  • Prepare material, equipment and supplies for shipment and complete necessary shipping papers.
  • Effectively act as lead on any stores jobs.
  • A genuine interest in learning the requirements of this classification as demonstrated through individual and cooperative efforts.
  • Meet company standards in regard to physical fitness, personal conduct and appearance, attendance, work performance, safety practices and supervision
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklift trucks, pallet jacks, or other material handling devices used in conjunction with normal warehouse operations.
  • Travel to job sites for material delivery, returns and meetings
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license with ability to safely operate motor vehicles. 
     

 Qualifications include:
 

  • Two to Four-year degree with a concentration in Purchasing, Materials Management, Business, Computer Science, or Engineering or related field and 2 years related work experience is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 4-7 years related work experience is required.  Related work experience includes materials management,  warehouse, and inventory support.  Experience in Energy Delivery, Nuclear or Fossil preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the company's safety policies.
  • Working knowledge of the warehouse management and inventory control systems is a plus.
  • Able to collaborate and work in a team environment.
  • Communicates effectively across functional and operational boundaries.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize work assignments.
  • Able to make timely decisions that use available material and resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provide administrative / clerical support as needed.
