About the Opportunity

 

This is an open position with Cleveland Electric Company., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.  [CEI]

 

This position plays a critical role developing and maintaining monthly/annual inspection reports that’s are provided to CEI management and FE regulatory, ensuring we are complying with all regulatory commitments.  This position also develops and maintains ad-hoc reports for the entire engineering department to measure department metrics.  It reports to the Supervisor, Distribution Maintenance and Regulatory

 

Reporting to and is located in Brecksville, OH.

 

Responsibilities

  • Organize regional activities and documentation in preparation for Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Desk Audits
  • Develop and maintain multiple databases to oversee and track maintenance of distribution plant equipment and related data, to ensure all regulatory requirements are met
  • Recommend and implement process changes based on identified data problems and follow up on concerns or issues discovered in the course of ESSS activities
  • Development of new, and maintenance of existing, process documentation and workflow practices
  • Use query tools to develop and run regular and ad hoc reports to monitor progress and various other information
  • Oversee training to regional personnel, including compliance gap and gap closure processes, development of process documents, regional roles and responsibilities, and maintenance and compliance reporting
  • Perform field audits on inspections performed by internal and external personnel
  • Educate and direct others on technical subject matters, improve programs and process effectiveness, and make significant contributions to the achievement of department goals and objectives
  • Conduct in-depth strategic research and analyze data; utilize results to implement solutions; develop high-level solutions for complex issues

 

An employee hired at the Associate Business Analyst level will be expected to perform all the above responsibilities with more proficiency, and in a more independent manner.  Further, they will be assigned additional responsibilities related to those listed above.

 

Qualifications at the Assistant Business Analyst include:

  • Two or four year degree in a related discipline preferred, with minimum 0-2 years relevant work experience required. In lieu of degree, minimum 2 years relevant work experience will be required.  The experience must include a basic understanding of the subject matter. 
  • Relevant work experience includes knowledge of construction and maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment and tools which would be used to determine the resources necessary to perform construction and maintenance work activities.
  • Experience with PC software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), Outlook, SAP, geographical information system (GIS), customer request work scheduling (CREWS), power outage reporting system (PowerOn), computer-aided drafting (CAD/AutoCAD) and Energy Delivery Outage Application is preferred.  Experience with database query tools (Qlikview, TOAD, SQL) and experience using Visual Basic is a plus.
  • Understand the Company’s Accident Prevention Handbook and Manual of Operations and practical application in the workplace.
  • Interpret work requests, engineering drawings, schematics, equipment instruction manuals and procedures to develop accurate work plans.  
  • Working knowledge of:    The purpose, function, and operating characteristics of equipment, and residential, commercial, and utility electrical distribution and control systems.    Construction methods, maintenance practices, service practices, standards and procedures.    Procedures and processes for the acquisition of materials, equipment and tools. 
  • Understand and effectively apply legal and regulatory requirements as appropriate.
  • Develop, collect, organize, and analyze information from a variety of sources to develop reports and provide information on backlog and productivity.
  • Professionalism to work with engineer and management personnel, as well as interface and work cooperatively with customers, contractors and the general public, in a courteous manner that demonstrates FirstEnergy’s rules of engagement. 
  • Must have a personal vehicle to commute to various facilities and locations as required, possessing a valid driver’s license.
