About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

 

This position is primarily responsible for supporting Customer Management in developing and implementing solutions that facilitate day-to-day business within the business controls area of Customer Service. The person in this position will develop, implement, and maintain applications, processes and procedures that include Qlikview reports, spreadsheets, macros, and ad-hoc queries to fulfill financial and operational controls obligations. This position also supports the Data Lake.

 

The position reports to the Supervisor, Customer Service Systems and can be located at any FE location.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, maintaining business tools, and/or developing creative ad-hoc solutions using one or more of the following: Excel, QlikView, Power Bi, TOAD, SAS, and SQVI.
    • Tools may include scripts and macros
  • Representing Billing and Customer Service Controls as the primary SME in data mining and reporting strategy teams
  • Leading or supporting process improvement efforts including seeking opportunities to improve routine/streamline processes
  • Assisting with conducting research and compiling data, prepare reports and summaries
  • Using knowledge of company tariffs and commission regulations to help implement changes to current practices as needed
  • Responding to regulatory requests
  • Meeting internal and external customer expectations with prompt, courteous, timely and accurate information
  • Building relationships and credibility across the organization and interacting professionally within all levels of the organization
  • Managing multiple assignments with varying delivery timelines

 

Qualifications include:

  • Two-year or four-year degree in a related discipline is preferred, along with minimum 4 years relevant work experience required. In lieu of degree, minimum 7 years relevant work experience will be required.
    • Relevant work experience will include strong analytical skills with intermediate technical ability and a strong customer service focus
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with process mapping software preferred
  • Ability to lead, plan, and organize multiple program initiatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, VISIO, PowerPoint)
    • Expert in Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP, SAS/TOAD, and scripting preferred
  • Effective interpersonal communications skills to aid in working across the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of SOx principles a plus
  • Ability to recognize and implement process improvements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to map processes and identify potential risks involved
