Job Summary:

 

Performs duties in connection with the installation, removal, replacement, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment associated with Power Generation, Distribution and Transmission; effectively assists higher-rated employees in the performance of such duties

  • Instructs and effectively directs other employees in the performance of any duties for which qualified.
  • Performs work of a lower classification; and performs other work, as assigned.
  • Work completely cross functional with the Mobile Maintenance Electrician.

 

This job will be based out of the Washington, PA.  Any employee is privileged to make application; however, A Repairman /Master Electrician or hold a recognized journeyman level certification from an accredited Department of Labor (DOL) Apprenticeship Program/Military Training equivalent in one of the following areas: Industrial Electrician, Millwright, Boilermaker, Plumber/Pipefitter, Steamfitter or Machinist, is requested to be considered an eligible bidder for one of these positions.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  1. Must take and pass the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) test.

 

  1. Must be an OpTech Mechanic IV “Max” (Repairman A)/Master Electrician or hold a recognized journeyman level certification from an accredited Department of Labor (DOL) Apprenticeship Program/Military Training equivalent in one of the following areas: Industrial Electrician, Millwright, Boilermaker, Plumber/Pipefitter, Steamfitter or Machinist, Substation or Power Plant experience is preferred.

 

  1. Must be able to safely and satisfactorily perform all the duties of lower classifications.

 

  1. Must possess a basic knowledge of steam electric generation, transmission and distribution.

 

  1. Must be able to read schematics and experience in reading electrical drawings is preferred but not required

 

  1. Ability to perform heavy physical work in a safe manner in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable to power stations.

 

  1. Ability to perform heavy physical work, climb structures, and work in high places. Mechanical aptitude for power station work.

 

  1. Mental ability to learn and perform the more complex duties of maintenance classifications.

 

  1. Ability to prepare legible and accurate reports.

 

  1. Must meet Company standards in regard to physical fitness, personal conduct and appearance, attendance, work performance, safety practices and supervision required.

 

  1. Must have demonstrated a genuine interest in learning through individual and cooperative efforts the job requirements of this classification.

 

  1. Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment related to this classification.

 

  1. Job site reporting and out of town assignments and other special qualifications will be required for these positions.
