About the Opportunity

This is an open position with JCP&L,  a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [JCPL]
 

This position will be responsible for supporting the Customer Service Revenue Operations group. The role will be responsible for supporting Revenue Operations initiatives including providing analytical support for the administration of day-to-day activities related to arrears management, write-off minimization, and performance analysis of field representatives. This work will involve the measurement of business performance initiatives to assist in driving performance improvement opportunities

 

The position reports to the Manager, Revenue Operations and is in Holmdel, NJ.

 

 Responsibilities include:

  • Compiling and analyzing performance statistics to assist with the preparation of reports necessary for periodic updates on business activities and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Using various query tools and sources of reporting data to analyze financial and operational data for decision making.
  • Developing alternatives and/or process improvements for existing procedures and guidelines.
  • Providing support and analysis for special projects or initiatives including gathering baseline data,
    development of time bound work plans, gathering facts and data for analysis, financial and operational analysis, development of recommendations, and presentation of findings.
  • Data mining for root causes associated improvements/declines in operational key indicators.
  • Providing support in preparation of budget detail and explanation of variances.
  • Working across state operations to ensure effective and consistent reporting and analysis.
  • Position may require occasional travel during work hours locally
  • Provide support to JCPL regional operations during storm events


 

Qualifications include:

  • Two- or four-year degree in a related discipline is preferred, with a minimum 2 years relevant work experience required.  In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant experience required.  Relevant work experience will include general understanding of subject matter or analytical roles.  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)
  • Basic technical knowledge including systems, applications and databases
  • Basic reporting and analytical skills including using Microsoft Excel and QlikView
  • Attention to detail coupled with effective analytical and problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze data, interpret results, and make recommendations
  • Self-motivator with ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision or direction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously focusing on meeting deadlines
  • Proven team player who contributes to team goals and supports other team members
  • Ability to identify issues or problems and determine root causes and solutions
  • Demonstrates a questioning attitude with willingness for continual growth, willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, and ability to adapt and change quickly
  • Delivers quality, accurate work within established deadlines
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and in climates of significant and rapid change
