About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [DBN]

 

The Design Mechanical Engineer position is located at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station in Oak Harbor, Ohio.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Preparing modifications and maintaining mechanical calculations up to date.

  • Assisting in the development of solutions to engineering technical issues in support of plant operation and maintenance

  • Preparing technical reports and presentations. 

  • Supporting problem identification and resolution using the Corrective Action Program.

  • Ensuring changes to the design requirements are identified, documented, controlled, evaluated, and approved. 

  • Managing and completing assigned activities to support timely implementation for required plant operations. 

  • Maintaining the plant design and licensing basis complying with industry standards and regulations. 

  • Performing assigned duties as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.   

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical) from an ABET-accredited institution is required.
  • Previous field/industry experience is desirable.
  • FE certification or PE license is preferred
  • ASME/ANSI Code and pipe stress knowledge is preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.

  • Reside within site-specific ERO response time.
