About the Opportunity

The Nuclear Engineering Analysis Supervisor, located at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant in Perry, Ohio, is responsible for providing supervision of staff in assigned functional area to ensure proper development of solutions to complex system/component problems.

 

Resposibilities include:

 

  • Planning and directing the evaluation of reactor plant operating margins and approve related nuclear safety analyses.
  • Providing technical oversight, including travel to each nuclear site.
  • Directing the development and application of computer-based reactor physics, transient, and other analyses.
  • Providing the technical bases for, and maintain related portions of, the Fleet updated Final Safety Analysis Reports.
  • Ensuring proper development of accident analysis and risk and reliability engineering services.
  • Ensuring the design basis in the assigned discipline is properly maintained; this includes ensuring the design requirements (and changes thereto) are identified, documented, controlled, evaluated, and approved.
  • Preparing and approving technical changes to design basis documents, licensing basis documents, and various support documents (such as vendor technical information).
  • Maintaining and revising station drawings as required.
  • Performing Emergency Response Organization duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree - Engineering (Mechanical or Nuclear preferred) or related technical field is required.
  • Minimum of three to five years experience in nuclear services, nuclear plant operations, or nuclear engineering relative to thermal/hydraulic or plant accident/transient analysis is required.
  • Shall be competent in technical matters related to plant safety and other engineering support aspects. (ANSI N18.1-1971, Section 4.6.2) 
  • Current or former Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License/Certification is preferred.
  • Three years of previous supervisory/leadership experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and the ability to lead others in achieving goals for the benefit of the business unit and the corporation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, positive attitude, and results orientation that can improve design and operating margin and promote continuous improvements in product quality.
  • Able to make accurate decisions and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the capability to effectively interface with all audiences across the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to both contribute to and execute an agreed-upon strategy for driving improvement in an organization.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated, and enthusiastic leader capable of communicating, motivating, and driving workforces toward positive change and improvement.
