About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FENOC (First Energy Nuclear Operating Companty), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEN]

 

The analyst will coordinate and execute FirstEnergy Solutions’ financial transactions within Beaver Valley Power Station, a FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC); this includes assisting in all position balancing functions as required.

 

The focus of this position is to review site projects and funding requests to determine the appropriate funding source (i.e., Capital vs O&M Expenditures).  As part of this decision-making process, attendance at site meetings is required.  In addition, project Cost Collector set-up and approvals are prepared to control costs.  This role is responsible for the Sarbanes-Oxley Controls of WBS creation.  Another main focus of the position is preparation and completion of all monthly site journals.  Other responsibilities include overtime reporting and outage lead for manpower and overtime reports.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing financial transactions
  • Developing and maintaining standard procedure and process documentation 
  • Demonstrating sound knowledge and use of various researching techniques
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of the Sarbanes - Oxley Act
  • Displaying a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships
  • Delivering quality, accurate work within established deadlines
  • Presenting excellent analytical abilities
  • Developing effective working relationships with internal and external counterparts
  • Identifying best practices to solve problems and incorporating these actions into improved work practices
  • Completing work assignments accurately and on-time

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline required
  • 4 to 8 years of relevant work experience in a related technical discipline required
  • Proficient use Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team member in any environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter, capable of learning new skills
  • Well organized with proven ability to prioritize workload
